Hollywood Park in its heyday - Thundering to a new world record for the mile in 1:33 1/5 at Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California June 9, 1956, Swaps (2, on rail) with Willie Shoemaker up, crosses the finish line to win the $50,000 added Argonaut handicap. Bobby Brocato, ridden by Johnny Longden, pressed him all the way and came in second (outside). Porterhouse, several lengths back was third.
