AN EYE SURGEON who has transformed the lives of thousands was "humbled" to have been knighted.
Professor Khaw, 56, is knighted
For more than 25 years, Professor Peng Tee Khaw, 56, has pioneered treatments for glaucoma, working tirelessly to give people the gift of sight.
He came to Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, the oldest and largest eye hospital in the world, in 1987 and quickly earned a reputation for developing new methods.
Prof Khaw said last night: "I'm very humbled to have been awarded this incredible honour."

It was his vision – with that of Daily Express owner Richard Desmond – that saw The Richard Desmond Children's Eye Centre open in 2007.
It is the largest hospital in the world dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of children's eye disease.
